CGN Report

On behalf of my team, I want to sincerely thank you for your prayers, support and goodwill towards the work God has committed into our hands.

It is with excitement I share
Cares Global Network’s 2014 progress report with you. To date we have done the following to foster our vision of sharing cares and inspiring excellence:

All we wanted to do was share smiles but our cash gift (minimum of N10, 000 or the value thereof) went over and beyond our noble intention to make a difference in the lives of 40 indigent persons. Beneficiaries include:
§  Veronika Shoronke (Ijebu Ode) Eye glasses, mid-day meals for 2 terms
§  Ifeanyi Otisi (Ajegunle) A set of crutches and computer training
§  Adebiyi Laonil (Lagos) Cash to upgrade her trading business
§  Badejo Keke (Ijebu Ife) 2 sets of uniforms and mid day meals for 2 terms
§  Afeez Dauda (Ibadan) Barbing kit to aid his barbing business
§  Mary Samuel (Gberigbe) Purchase of WAEC form and school uniform
§  Tolulope Elegbe (Ibadan) Computer training
§  Onyeka Ikem (Ibadan) Cash to trade in eggs
§  Chinaza Paul (homeless child who lived on Kuramo beach) School fees
§  Wemimo Ogunbekun (Lagos) Support purchase of cake making equipment
§  Edmund Owan (Lagos) Support his aspiration as a musician
§  Damilola Adedayo (Lagos) Support training for his photography business
§  10 Students of FGC Odogbolu some of whom have lost parents

It’s almost impossible to care without giving! We donated gifts to schools for the benefit of students:
§  Atunda Olu School (Surulere) received a new 4-in-1 HP Deskjet printer
§  Modupe Cole School (Akoka) received cauldron and utensils
§  Over 80 students received sandals in Odogbolu as part of CGN’s Sandals for Soles vision. Thanks to Encouragement Initiatives for helping with this.
§  25 copies of Just Sharing, a compendium of inspiring articles for young people went to African Church Grammar School and FGC Odogbolu students/libraries in honour of Deaconess Ibiyemi Famuyiwa.

CGN partnered with like minded groups:
§  We partnered with the Federal Government College Odogbolu Class of 1990 to organise the Children Career Conference, which benefitted over 400 students in Odogbolu. Guest Speakers include Pastor Funmi Adesegun (wife of Ogun State Deputy Governor), Chief Taiwo Ajai Lycett, Mrs. Bimbo Bello-Oloko of LTV 8 and Mrs. Amaka Umeano. Support for this event came from UAC Foods, Laredo Ventures, Ekstramyl and FGC Odogbolu.
§  We organised Divine Connection’s Harvest Of Marriages Empowerment Summit (DC HOMES) in partnership with Redeemed Christian Church of God Throne of Grace, The Covenant House and Olive Tree. It was an opportunity for “Isaac” to be divinely connected to “Rebecca”. To God’s glory some of those who attended the event are now married!!! The guest ministers, Rev. Kemi Ijagbulu and Deaconess Ibiyemi Famuyiwa; were supported by pastors from the partner-parishes.
§  We partnered with RCCG The Covenant House to host a Breakfast Meeting for Singles & Married in Victoria Island.
§  We partnered with Children & Young Persons Development Centre Abuja to coordinate the participation of Nigerian delegates who attended the Youth Assembly at the United Nations in New York. We also worked with other organisations to host students from Spain, France and Slovakia.

We initiated or supported capacity building programmes for nonprofit organisations and small scale companies:
§  Organised 2-day “Professionalism in Hospitality” workshop for staff of Laredo (Small Chops) Ventures in Lagos Island
§  Organised HAT (Hair Accessory Training) and Grief Counseling Seminar for members of WADSS (Widows And Development Support Services) in RCCG Camp Ogun State
§  Organised “Buiding Nigeria’s Image: Ikere Ekiti in Focus” seminar at St. Luke Church Uro, Ikere Ekiti in collaboration with the Ikere Youth Coalition
§  Supported leadership training by Treasure Field Youths in Obalende
§  Supported Encouragement Initiative’s Annual Charity Colloquium in Ogun
§  Supported the “Made in Nigeria” Conference in Lagos

Omolola is presently carrying out a doctoral research which will ultimately aid churches in their role of supporting mature singles on their marital journey. To fill the questionnaire, kindly use appropriate link: General (21+)MinistersUnmarriedUnmarried IIMarried

She honoured speaking engagements beyond the shores of Nigeria as we added 2 books to the CGN treasury. This brought books published by CGN to five – Just Sharing (for youths) by Omolola, Pillar of Strength (for women) by Pastor Grace Okonrende. Uncut (poems), What is wrong with you (for mature singles), Dear JB (literary criticism), and publications to 2 – Willows Magazine for young people and DC Newsletter for mature singles. We also launched the WRITE (Willows Readers Initiative Towards Education) Contest and Write YOS (Your Own Story) Campaign.

Our board and staff couldn’t have done it without YOU; donors, supporters, the media and members of 4 committees that worked tirelessly to help us touch lives!
